WHO WE
ARE
A collective of storytellers, cinematographers, and dreamers — united by the belief that every story deserves to be told right.

ROOTED IN
TWO CULTURES
Shotkut was born at the crossroads of two of India's richest cinematic traditions — Bengali and Hindi cinema. We believed that short films in these languages deserved the same craft, ambition, and emotional depth as any feature film.
Bengali cinema carries the legacy of Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak, and Mrinal Sen — a tradition of humanist, deeply observational storytelling. Hindi cinema speaks to a billion hearts with its range, colour, and narrative boldness. We work in both, refusing to choose between depth and reach.
Every film we make — whether in Bangla or Hindi — begins with the same question: what does this story need to be felt? The language changes. The commitment never does.
PURPOSE & VISION
To produce short films in Bengali and Hindi that prioritise emotional truth, cultural authenticity, and narrative depth — giving both languages the cinematic treatment they deserve.
To establish Shotkut as the benchmark for Bengali and Hindi short-form cinema in India — where storytellers come when only the best craft will do.
Rooted in the specificity of Bengali and Hindi culture. We protect the cultural truth of every story — from dialect and setting to the emotional register of each language.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND
THE LENS

He repairs smiles by profession and breaks hearts by design. A dentist who swapped the drill for a directors chair — co-founder, director, and editor who believes every life holds a story worth putting in front of the world.

He engineers solutions by day and stories by frame. Co-founder, director, and the bridge between brands and narratives — where logic meets emotion, he is always in the room

A dentist who composes symphonies and writes the words the camera can not say. Head of music and operations — he does not just set the mood, he builds the world the story lives in.

She builds the worlds the camera steps into. Production designer who transforms bare sets into living, breathing cinematic spaces — every prop, texture, and light placement a deliberate act of storytelling.

The force that turns vision into reality. Executive producer who commands the logistics, resources, and relationships that make every frame possible — so the creative team can focus on the story.
